about me
Who's behind the camera?
I'd like to take this opportunity to share a little about myself and tell you how I became a professional wedding photographer. I guess like most it started from an enjoyment of photography as a hobby. I still remember saving up my pocket money to buy my first camera. It wasn't until around the age of 26 when I realised this hobby could turn in to a career.

Hi, I'm Ashley.
I'm a wedding photographer, husband to Becky, dad to our daughter Daisy, and someone who spends a slightly worrying amount of time thinking about my lawn.
Seriously. If you've ever found yourself admiring a perfectly striped lawn, we're probably going to get along just fine. I'm forever trying to make mine greener, fuller and just that little bit better than it was the week before. Becky would probably tell you I care more about the lawn than most normal people should.
When I'm not photographing weddings, life is usually pretty simple. You'll find me spending time with Becky and our daughter Daisy, pottering around the garden, growing vegetables that definitely don't save me any money, or i'm outside watering plants convincing myself I'm some sort of gardening expert.
I also enjoy a bit of gaming when I can get away with it, although these days finding the time is often harder than finishing the actual game.
As every about me page seems to talk about food and drink, let's do it! If I had to choose a last meal, it'd be a proper carbonara. Although a good Sunday roast runs it very close. As for drinks, make it an Old Fashioned and I'm a happy man.
Before photography, I actually spent several years working as a musical theatre performer. It took me all over the world and, more importantly, it's where I met my wife. Looking back, I think that's probably why I enjoy weddings so much. I've always loved people, stories and those moments that make you laugh one second and tear up the next.
These days I get to spend my weekends surrounded by exactly that. Family, friends, happy tears, terrible dance moves and all the little moments that couples often miss in the blur of a wedding day.
I genuinely love what I do, and I never take for granted that people trust me to capture such an important day in their lives.
If you're looking for a photographer who'll happily blend in with your guests, have a laugh with your family, and occasionally talk lawn care if the opportunity arises, I'd love to talk more about your plans.
Happy supplier hunting and wedding planning!
Ashley
Now I know you're curious to see what my lawn looks like..!
